THE DEPRAVITY OF MAN

Genesis 6:5 – The LORD saw how great man’s wickedness on the earth had become, and that every inclination of the thoughts of his heart was only evil all the time.

Psalms 14:1-3 –  The fool [a] says in his heart, “There is no God.” They are corrupt, their deeds are vile; there is no one who does good. The LORD looks down from heaven on the sons of men to see if there are any who understand, any who seek God. All have turned aside, they have together become corrupt; there is no one who does good, not even one.

Psalms 16:2 – I said to the LORD, “You are my Lord; apart from you I have no good thing.”

Psalms 51:5 – Surely I was sinful at birth, sinful from the time my mother conceived me.

Psalms 143:2 – Do not bring your servant into judgment, for no one living is righteous before you.

Proverbs 20:9 – Who can say, “I have kept my heart pure; I am clean and without sin”?

Ecclesiastes 7:20 – There is not a righteous man on earth who does what is right and never sins.

Jeremiah 17:9 – The heart is deceitful above all things and beyond cure. Who can understand it?

John 15:5 -“I am the vine; you are the branches. If a man remains in me and I in him, he will bear much fruit; apart from me you can do nothing.

Romans 3:10-12 – As it is written: “There is no one righteous, not even one; there is no one who understands, no one who seeks God. All have turned away, they have together become worthless; there is no one who does good, not even one.

Romans 3:23 – for all have sinned and fall short of the glory of God,

Romans 7:18 – I know that nothing good lives in me, that is, in my sinful nature.[a] For I have the desire to do what is good, but I cannot carry it out.
