QUESTION – What are the promises of God in prayer and how can the elderly and invalid be used by God to touch the world at the end of their lives
PREMISE – Life Manor residents (80-90 yr olds)
They have the time:
-to use their mouths
-to reach the nations
-through prayer and the promises of God
-to seek and save those who are lost
-and be more fruitful in their later few days than their former many days all put together.
What is the hope of elderly people?
How can they finish strong and with a holy fury and make these last years the most powerful and anointed years of their lives by using their mouths in evangelistic God-inspired prayer?
Though they may never leave this city again, and maybe not even this care facility, they can “change the nations” by going to the world with their mouths (speaking the promises of God over the nations.
I John 5:14-15 – This is the confidence we have in approaching God: that if we ask anything according to his will, he hears us. And if we know that he hears us—whatever we ask—we know that we have what we asked of him.
Subsequent Question – what is God’s will?
1) Saved
2) Holy
3) Filled with the spirit
I Timothy 2:3-4 – This is good, and pleases God our Savior, who wants all men to be saved and to come to a knowledge of the truth.
Ezekiel 33:11 – Say to them, ‘As surely as I live, declares the Sovereign LORD, I take no pleasure in the death of the wicked, but rather that they turn from their ways and live
2 Corinthians 5:7 – We live by faith, not by sight.
Romans 4:17 – Abraham is our father in the sight of God, in whom he believed—the God who gives life to the dead and calls things that are not as though they were.
Romans 4:21 – being fully persuaded that God had power to do what he had promised.
Perseverance in prayer – parable of the persistent widow – Luke 18:1-8
TOLD THE TRUE STORY OF THE IMMIGRANT WORKER IN MARYLAND WHOM I MET LAST SUMMER – digging ditches in 100 degree heat for $7 per hour, 12 hours a day. Does not know English. Stuck in a job he dislikes but can’t get out of……….…forever. zero realistic hope of anything better on this planet without god. He is an unbeliever, then comes to Jesus, is saved, sanctified, is filled with the spirit and becomes a partner with God in reaching the nations for Jesus through his mouth……speaks by faith and perseveres in declaring the promises of God regarding God’s will for the salvation of the lost, their holiness and their being filled with the spirit in all the countries of the world. He is used mightily in the evangelization of Mozambique, Equador, Pakistan, France, Mexico, USA and the other 200 countries of the world……… A WORLD CHANGER, though he never learns English, gets paid more than $10 an hour and digs ditches and irrigation channels for the rest of his lfe.
THE APPEAL TO THE LIFE MANOR RESIDENTS
This could be you, WORLD CHANGER!!!
If you can’t anymore go to the world with your feet, then go to the ends of the earth with your mouth and partner with God for the redemption of the world through prayer and the promises of God.
The battle is not against flesh and blood (Ephesians 6).
Prayer is your transportation to the world.
Your impact for the kingdom of god has only just begun at 80 yrs old.
This can be the most powerful time of your life center church.
God has laid this city, state, country and the countries of the world at your feet.
IF YOU CAN’T GO WITH YOUR FEET, GO WITH YOUR MOUTH
LET YOUR BEDROOM BE THE HOUSE OF PRAYER FOR THE NATIONS
TO HIM BE PRAISE FOREVER MORE, HE IS ABLE TO DO FAR MORE THAN WE CAN ASK OR IMAGINE FOR THE SAKE OF HIS NAME, AMEN AND SO BE IT
