“What is Extraordinary Prayer”

“What is Extraordinary Prayer”

NO SURPRISE that God begins to move when the people of God pray

Not just “pray”, but PRAY EXTAORDINARILY (and for decades to come)

Extraordinary Prayer: When ordinary men and women pray…
1.       Extraordinary length of time, for
2.       Extraordinarily consecutive days, in
3.       Extraordinary numbers

God is willing to take us to a spiritual place beyond everything we could ever ask or imagine (Ephesians 3:20), if we will make a decision to believe him for this (it is just a matter of time)

He WILL DO this through Extraordinary Prayer, as we STAND ON HIS PROMISES

“Whatever you desire, if you believe that you have received it, it is yours” (Mark 11:24)

“Open your mouth wide and I will fill it” (Psalms 81:10)

“This is the confidence we have in approaching God: that if we ask anything according to his will, he hears us. And if we know that he hears us whatever we ask we know that we have what we asked of him”  (1 John 5:14-15)

What will we ask him for according to His will?

What will we believe God for?

These are OUR PROMISES TO STAND UPON
a.       Everyone saved (1 Timothy 2:4)
b.       Everyone holy to the Lord (1 Peter 1: 15-16)
c.       Everyone filled with the Holy Spirit (Ephesians 5:18)
d.       Unity (John 17:23)
e.       Diversity of races (Galatians 3:26-28)
f.        God’s way vs. man’s way (Colossians 3:17,23)
g.       Love the cornerstone of the community (1 Corinthians 13)

God practically dares us to believe He will actually do these things

What do you dream and pray Quantity over Quantity according to God’s will?

Will we BELIEVE Him for these kinds of promises?

And if so, will we “prove” that we believe him by Praying Extraordinarily in the ensuing decades?
In Mark 16 Jesus appeared to His disciples and said, “Go into all the world and preach the good news to all creation.”  Is this commandment (the Great Commission) only for Jesus disciples, or is it for US as well?

Jesus said further in that passage, “Whoever believes and is baptized will be saved, but whoever does not believe will be condemned”  Is this promise only for Jesus disciples, or is it for US as well?

HOWEVER
It is one thing to believe IN God, and an entirely different thing to BELIEVE GOD

WHAT WILL WE BELIEVE GOD FOR?

BOTTOM LINE:
Do not expect anything mighty to occur apart from what God promised to do ONLY by Extraordinary, Believing Prayer

“No eye has seen, no ear has heard, no mind has conceived what God has promised for those who love him” (1 Corinthians 2:9)

Could we “Believe God” for these kind of things…and prove it by our earnest and persistent prayers?

WHAT IS “EARNEST AND PERSISTENT PRAYER”

1)       Parable of Unjust Judge and the Persistent Widow (Luke 18)
2)       Jesus teaching on Prayer (Luke 11:1-13
3)       “Record” of Jesus himself in prayer (Hebrews 5:7)

DO WE GET THE PICTURE OF WHAT GOD IS SAYING TO US HERE, AS TO WHAT “MOVES” HIM IN PRAYER?

“FROM THE DAYS OF JOHN THE BAPTIST UNTIL NOW, THE KINGDOM OF HEAVEN HAS BEEN FORCEFULLY ADVANCING, AND FORCEFUL MEN (MANKIND) LAY HOLD OF IT” (Matthew 11:12)
