Want to hate sin?

THERE IS NOTHING TO FEAR IN THE SPIRIT WORLD

WHEN WE ARE FREE OF SINS INFLUENCE, “WE” ARE THE ONES IN AUTHORITY OVER THE DEVIL AND THE DEMONS

Luke 10:17-20

17 The seventy-two returned with joy and said, “Lord, even the demons submit to us in your name.” 18 He replied, “I saw Satan fall like lightning from heaven.  19 I have given you authority to trample on snakes and scorpions and to overcome all the power of the enemy; nothing will harm you.

TO GET FREE AND STAY FREE, WE MUST

1) HATE SIN AND GRIEVE OVER IT

2) NOT FEAR, BUT DRIVE AWAY THE SUPERNATURAL FORCES OF EVIL ASSOCIATED WITH SIN, AS DEPICTED ABOVE

* THE VERSES BELOW HELP “CONNECTUS ” WITH GOD’S HEART TO SIN AND WHAT OUR HEARTS ARE TO BE TOWARD SINNING AGAINST GOD AND/OR MAN (REPENTENCE IS NOT SIMPLY A MATTER OF “WORDS”; IT IS A HEART CONDITION OF HUMILITY THAT MANIFESTS IN GRIEVING, MOURNING AND WEEPING OVER SIN. WHEN WE MOVE TO THIS HEART CONDITION…………..OUR MOUTH OPENS AND WE ARE ABLE TO SPEAK OUTLOUD FREELY)

Luke 18:9-14

9 To some who were confident of their own righteousness and looked down on everybody else, Jesus told this parable: 10 “Two men went up to the temple to pray, one a Pharisee and the other a tax collector. 11 The Pharisee stood up and prayed about himself: ‘God, I thank you that I am not like other men — robbers, evildoers, adulterers — or even like this tax collector. 12 I fast twice a week and give a tenth of all I get.’ 13 “But the tax collector stood at a distance. He would not even look up to heaven, but beat his breast and said, ‘God, have mercy on me, a sinner.’ 14 “I tell you that this man, rather than the other, went home justified before God. For everyone who exalts himself will be humbled, and he who humbles himself will be exalted.”

Joel 2:12-13

12’Even now,’ declares the LORD,

‘return to me with all your heart,

with fasting and weeping and mourning.’

13 Rend your heart

and not your garments.

Return to the LORD your God,

for he is gracious and compassionate,

slow to anger and abounding in love,

and he relents from sending calamity.

Isaiah 57:15

15 For this is what the high and lofty One says —

he who lives forever, whose name is holy:

“I live in a high and holy place,

but also with him who is contrite and lowly in spirit,

to revive the spirit of the lowly

and to revive the heart of the contrite.

Isaiah 66:2

“This is the one I esteem:

he who is humble and contrite in spirit,

and trembles at my word.

Psalms 51:1-17

1 Have mercy on me, O God,according to your unfailing love;according to your great compassion blot out my transgressions. 2 Wash away all my iniquity and cleanse me from my sin. 3 For I know my transgressions, and my sin is always before me. 4 Against you, you only, have I sinned and done what is evil in your sight,so that you are proved right when you speak and justified when you judge. 5 Surely I was sinful at birth, sinful from the time my mother conceived me. 6 Surely you desire truth in the inner parts;you teach me wisdom in the inmost place. 7 Cleanse me with hyssop, and I will be clean;wash me, and I will be whiter than snow. 8 Let me hear joy and gladness;let the bones you have crushed rejoice. 9 Hide your face from my sins and blot out all my iniquity. 10 Create in me a pure heart, O God,and renew a steadfast spirit within me. 11 Do not cast me from your presence or take your Holy Spirit from me. 12 Restore to me the joy of your salvation and grant me a willing spirit, to sustain me. 13 Then I will teach transgressors your ways, and sinners will turn back to you. 14 Save me from bloodguilt, O God,the God who saves me,and my tongue will sing of your righteousness. 15 O Lord, open my lips, and my mouth will declare your praise. 16 You do not delight in sacrifice, or I would bring it;you do not take pleasure in burnt offerings. 17 The sacrifices of God are a broken spirit;a broken and contrite heart,O God, you will not despise.

Proverbs 2:3-7

and if you call out for insight and cry aloud for understanding, and if you look for it as for silver and search for it as for hidden treasure, then you will understand the fear of the Lord and find the knowledge of God, for the Lord gives wisdom, and from his mouth comes knowledge and understanding. He holds victory in store for the upright, he is a shield to those whose walk is blameless
